Just the other day I was browsing through the World Wide Web. I came across a website called “YouTube.com” a site where people upload there favorite video footages that they want other users to see. Surfing through the pages of this site I found a lot of videos. Works of different young and up coming directors, producers and musicians, artists. After scrolling for an hour I cane across a page and what I found there was something that knocked me off my feet. I am sure it will do the same to you. It is a montage of two famous Fakhir videos and a lot more. A video of a remix by a guy who calls himself/herself as DJ impulsive. This effort I am sure would have taken a long time to compile. It has three tracks by fakhir all remixed into one. The video starts just like a regular dance track but by the end turns into a club bhangra mix. It opens with a rave beat turning into “Touba Hi” by fakhir the leading track in this mix. This time really fantastically remixed giving the touch of club sound to the song and adding a life to the actual song with the loop of the first verse. The scene of the original video now diagonally tilted gives it a feel of a remix video. Using the mirror effect gives it’s a new life the original video needed. The interchange (bridge) section keeps you in a dance mood with turntable scratches and the music that forces you get up and move to it. Some fabulous scenes of some local club action followed by “Teray Bina” scratching back in gives the video a great sound. So rightly sequenced shots for the original videos with some added shots put the life back into the song. Thus correcting the visualization mistakes of the director of the original music video. Really upbeat and fit for anyone in a mood party. Again moving to the interchange (bridge) section the video and the music still keeps you in a trance. With the turntable scratches and the music that make you keep on shaking your bootie with it. And now comes my favorite part. Magnificent shots, shot on a beach with the gorgeous looking lady playing and dancing with some children and that sexy turning shot in blue dress that just does the trick for me. The only word I have is superb otherwise I am lost with words explaining this particular scene. This is followed by shot of the flutiest and the tunnel shots all marvelous append to the video. The club scenes really put the club mix theme into the video.
An advice to the director/editor: you did not have to write Jump! Jump! Jump! people will do that just because of the music mix. And The DJ Impulsive’s gift to fakhir and his fans insertion is used more than it was needed.
Otherwise excellent video editing and perfect scene selection according to the lyrics and music. A montage of fakhir photographs with other celebrities gives it the look of a lifetime achievement award for Fakhir. The DJ doing a great job remixing the tracks. The best part of this video is taking footage for some other video and adding it to make it look like it was shot for this video. It looks like the scenes were shot just to make this sequence of the video as they really go along with the lyrics with an added help for a couple of other shots. The use of the dance shoot at the tunnel gives the video an out of this world experience. Just listening to the song make you want to dance. The visuals add the million complementary words to the remix. Comparing this with original fakhir videos will do no justice to the effort put in by the creators of this masterpiece. In short watching the video will change your perception about Fakhir. It will make you a fan even if you are not one yet. An extraordinary and encourage able effort by the creators of the video that does justice to the remixed song by this DJ.
